Edgemaker Pro Knife Sharpener Instructions

Each step of the Edgemaker Pro Sharpener is dependant upon the previous step in order to put the best possible edge on your blade. Please read through all of these instructions before beginning the sharpening process.

*Before use, lay each Edgemaker tool flat on a solid surface such as a table or a counter with
the steel rods over the edge (see picture below)*

Step#1- The BLUE EDGEMAKER PRO tool prepares restores the taper or angle on each side of your blade. A uniform taper is necessary for the sharpest edge. To reset your taper, draw your knife through the steel rods using moderate pressure while holding the blade at a 45 degree angle.When the blade slides through the Blue Edgemaker Pro with little drag, your taper has been restored. Your are now ready to proceed to the next step.

Step#2- The ORANGE EDGEMAKER PRO tool features two sets of steel rods. The rods to the right side have long grooves. These are used to put the edge on the taper. As in Step#1, draw the blade through the Edgemaker Pro at a 45 degree angle using moderate pressure, lightening the pressure as the blade sharpens. When your feel no drag you have successfully restored the edge to your blade. You will use the SAME EDGEMAKER  PRO in the next step.

Step#3- Now, move your blade to the rods on the left side of the Orange Edgemaker Pro tool. This is the one with the pebbled surface rods. Lightly draw your blade through these rods at a 45 degree angle to hone the edge. Just a few strokes will complete this step. You are ready for Step 4.

Step#4- The YELLOW EDGEMAKER PRO tool features smooth steel rods. Again, lightly draw your blade through these rods at a 45 degree angle to polish the edge. These rods give your blade a uniform angle and can remove a rolled edge caused from hitting something hard such as a bone or your cutting board. This Edgemaker Pro also polishes and maintains your blades edge.

Note: For serrated blades, pull the knife through the steels at a 90 degree angel. Use slow strokes with lighter pressure to ensure that the knife does not bounce across the serrated teeth. Back to Edgemaker Pro Knife Sharpener Set.



Scissors

Use only the long grooved steels on the Orange Edgemaker Pro tool. Never sharpen the inside of the scissor blade as this will separate the blades. Lay the Orange Edgemaker Pro tool flat on your table or countertop. Open the scissors and rest the blade straight up and down across one of the long grooved steels. (Do not try to match the beveled angle on your scissor blade!) Now draw the scissors towards you. You do not need to use much pressure. Repeat this action several times and then do the other blade.
